SingBlitz
SingBlitz - Release Your Inner Diva

"We teach you all about rock, from performing on stage to using a microphone," says Singblitz Creator, Sue O'Brien. Some people do find talent they didn't know they had but most people just want to have fun and be involved.
After spending most of the 80s and 90s working the cover band circuit in Melbourne, Ms O'Brien came up with the idea for Singblitz in the hope of replicating the razzle-dazzle excitement of performing live on stage.
"My background has been in rock, pop and jazz and it occurred to me that, unless you are an elite professional singer, it is difficult to experience the adrenaline rush of singing live. Singblitz gives people a taste of how exciting rock band singing can be – whether they are a professional or not."
The amazing Wendy Stapleton also runs Singblitz courses with Sue. Sue and Wendy share a wealth of performance and industry experience and have many stories to share with those they train.
Singblitz caters for women and men with busy lives. Each course is a complete package and includes a performance. People can do consecutive Singblitz seasons or miss one or two and join in with the next one. Some people have done every season since we started.
There is always an added challenge when you return to Singblitz – duo or solo parts, harmonies, backing vocal techniques, if you wish to take any of that on. If you are happy singing with the group, that's fine as well.
Singblitz runs for 10 sessions and finishes with a pub gig performance for family and friends. Repertoire is designed to suit the demographic of the participants and ranges from The Beatles to Beyonce.
Singblitz is also a great way to see if your teenage daughter or son has vocal potential and can often help parents to decide whether to invest in private lessons. Group performance is a great way for people to "have a go" in an environment that is non-threatening.

SingBlitz Classes
Singblitz offers two different types of classes, Party Class and Professional Class. All classes are run by Professional and talented teachers/performers.
Party Class
Party Class is open for men and women who are interested in singing for pleasure rather than for performance. It is a relaxed, non-threatening environment with the emphasis on having fun. Performance opportunities are offered throughout the year and it is more "group singing" rather than solo performances. Party Classes are held at Soundhouse, 169 Mt Alexander Road, Flemington.
We are currently taking enrolments for Singblitz Party Class, lead by the wonderful Wendy Stapleton, on Wednesday nights from 7.00pm till 8.30pm, starting Wednesday 5 October till 30 November. Only $130 for the term. We invite anyone to come along and have a look and try an obligation free class to see what it's all about. Bookings are essential, contact Sonia at sonia@singblitz.com.au for more information or call Sonia on 0403 693 776.
Professional Class
Professional Class is open for men and women who are keen to sing in a more professional capacity. Lessons are geared to prepare participants for performances throughout the season and at the end of a 15 session season there will be a combined gig featuring all the Singblitz classes. Class sizes are limited to 10 participants and each performer has their own microphone. In Professional class participants will learn microphone technique, harmonies, performance technique and participants will be given the opportunity to sing solo or duo parts if they desire. The cost of Professional Classes is $412.50 for 15 sessions, including performances. This amount is payable in 2 installments.
